Returns & Refunds Policy

This Returns & Refunds Policy applies to purchases made from NYC Media Arts Playing Cards through nycmediaarts.org. We are a Melbourne, Australia–based retailer of premium, collectible playing cards. This policy explains how change-of-mind returns work alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which cannot be excluded.
Return Eligibility
We offer a voluntary change-of-mind return option. You may request a return provided: the request is made within 30 calendar days from the date of delivery; the product is a standard catalogue item we sold to you directly; and the return meets the Return Conditions and Non-Returnable Items sections below.
The 30-day window is for our discretionary change-of-mind policy. You may still have remedies under the ACL if a consumer guarantee applies after 30 days.
- Change-of-mind returns are limited to items that remain sealed and unopened.
- Proof of purchase (order number or confirmation email) is required.
How to Initiate a Return
Contact us with your full name, order number, product name/SKU, reason for return, and whether you seek a refund or exchange. We will issue a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) and return address. Do not send items back without an RMA.

Return Conditions
Because our inventory is aimed at collectors, only sealed and unopened items qualify for change-of-mind returns. The factory seal, shrink wrap, tear strip, or sticker seal must be fully intact. All original packaging, accessories, and documentation must be included. Items must be free of damage not present when dispatched.
Damaged/Defective Items
If your order arrives damaged in transit or with a defect, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs showing the outer carton, inner packaging, and the specific damage or defect. We may offer a replacement, repair, or refund. Where the problem is our fault or the goods fail to meet a consumer guarantee, we will cover return postage in line with ACL remedies.
- Retain all packaging until we confirm it is no longer needed.
- If you received the wrong item, contact us with photos and your order number; we will arrange correction at no cost to you.
Refund Process
Approved refunds are credited to your original payment method within approximately 5–10 business days from approval. Banks may add additional processing time. Original outbound shipping charges are generally non-refundable for change-of-mind returns. If a return is required because we failed to meet a consumer guarantee, we will refund applicable amounts including reasonable shipping costs.
Exchanges
We may offer exchanges when stock is available and the item meets the same sealed, unopened standards. Contact us for an RMA, confirm availability and any price difference, return the original item, and we will ship the replacement.
Return Shipping
For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for return shipping costs. Use a tracked service and keep proof of postage. Where the return arises because we sent the wrong item or goods are faulty, we will provide a prepaid label or reimburse reasonable postage.

Non-Returnable Items
Unless a statutory exception applies, the following are non-returnable for change of mind:
- Playing cards or collectibles that are opened, unsealed, or tampered with
- Personalised or made-to-order items
- Gift cards or store credits once issued or redeemed
- Clearance or final-sale items marked as non-returnable (still returnable if faulty under the ACL)
Consumer Guarantees under ACL
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
